We passed in the transportation committee! We still need your help!

Thanks to your support, we've passed SB 957 the Highway Safety and Mandatory Insurance bill for ALL Illinois motorists by a six to three vote in the Transportation Committee. The bill now moves to a final vote in the House.

Providing a way for Illinois immigrant motorists to obey driver’s license laws will make everyone on our state’s roads safer. These immigrant drivers will need to get tested on their driving skills and on the rules of the road, and purchase insurance. SB 957 would make Temporary Visitor Driver’s Licenses (TVDL) available to these motorists who also need to drive and provides a concrete solution to the problem of document fraud by drying up the black market for expensive fraudulent documents.
